Erik Blicker began his musical and audio creation journey at the age of four years old when his father first began recording the family on two track tape reel to reel.
His home was constantly filled with the music of Tony Bennett, Sinatra, Basie, Ellington and Bach. His father took him to the library at age 8 to search for music albums. He came across Beatles for Sale. This event set his musical passion ablaze. Playing DJ with his fathers's microphone spinning records and recording the shows with his brother to the two track.
HIs love affair with the guitar started at age 12. Taking lessons with a former bandmate of Duanne Allman he grew into playing in bands throughout Connecticut. After graduating high school, Erik took a two thousand dollar loan from the bank, which was cosigned by his father, and opened a music store on the Connecticut Shoreline. With a cardboard desk and an Gibson SG, Erik went from zero to seventy students a week over five years teaching banjo, mandolin, lap steel, drums, bass and guitar. While exhausting the local talent pool in CT Erik sold the music store to study recording and Jazz Guitar at the University of Miami.
Soaking up the Miami scene and playing with many talented players enriched his playing and writing. Playing in origial and cover bands throughout Florida led to tour of the far east. After graduating from Miami Erik relocated to NYC. Having the opportunity to play with Pheobe Snow, Carly Simon, Steve Bernstein, Michael Blake and Skip Brevis. After opening the Sound Closet on the upper east side. Erik pursued a a masters in music and graduated from the Aaron Copeland School of Music at Queens College with a degree in Theory and Composition. He studied with Jazz Saxophone great Jimmy Heath.
Meeting Glenn Schloss on a gig proved to be a turning point as the two created a new company called G&E Music in 1997. Together they’ve created music and scores for hundreds of projects and continue to till this day.
When he is not twisting audio he spends his time with his beautiful
wife Jennifer, son Ryan and daughter Ella.
