G&E Music Scores Big with HBO Family Channel

G&E Music has been working around the clock on the theme and show packaging for HBO Family Channel's show 30 X 30 Kid Flicks. G&E submitted an initial version of the composition to HBO producer Mark Clark in early March. Of the handful of bids, G&E's track came out on top. The show brought together several top NYC production houses, G&E Music, Keyframe Post and Fourth of July Productions.

The music track opens with the original HBO theme. Composer Erik Blicker morphed the HBO theme into his original composition using Sound Hack software along side a Pro tools 24 mix plus system. The transition comes off without a hitch, seguing into a funky, hip groove complete with an all-kid chorus, recorded at a local elementary school.G&E hired Tara Harrison, a promising young R&B vocalist, to record vocal lines over the top of the music. The entire length of the piece is :50, complete with sound design, breaks, and even a young Ryan Blicker, 8 (Erik's son) contributing the final "kid flicks" stinger.

G&E went to its Producer's Toolbox to provide sound design for the piece. Editor Todd Feuer of Keyframe Post worked with the Producer's Toolbox for the show and was impressed with its easy-to-use layout. Putting it simply, Feuer commented, "It rocks!"
