G&E Music Teams Up with MTVN and The Benson Group

New York (June 2001)
G&E Creative Partners Glenn Schloss and Erik Blicker composed music this month for MTVN. Producers at MTVN hired G&E to score :30, :15, and :07 spots that were prominantly displayed on a large screen at the National Cable and Telecomunications Association's 50th annual convention and international exposition from June 10 to June 13 in Chicago.

The video highlights the many cable channels that fall under the MTVN umbrella. Logos for VH1, MTV, TNN, Nickelodeon, CMT, TV Land and others shoot across the screen from right to left as the MTVN logo slowly reveals front to back. G&E worked hand and hand with the Benson Group, based in Atlanta, who designed the graphics for the project. G&E sound designer, Brian Quill, created a collage of audio clips from different MTVN shows and promos, giving the aural illusion of flipping through channels on a television. The music is driven by a modern drum beat that is light at first, then builds as the speed of the visual movement increases. The spots were a big hit at this years NCTA convention.

G&E, founded by Glenn Schloss and Erik Blicker is a full service sound design and audio post production company providing licensed and original music to the film and television industry.
