G&E Writes Inspirational Music for PBS KIDS

New York (October 2001)
G&E Music recently composed a :60 piece with a :30 version for the PBS KIDS promotional spot, "Ready To Learn Caregivers spot", produced by writer/producer Nadira Isaacs. The project called for sweet and inspirational music to support the theme of helping children learn. G&E Music tuned up their heartstrings accordingly, providing PBS KIDS with four versions from which to choose. Upon approval, the selected composition, initially recorded as MIDI, was then rerecorded using acoustic instruments.

The spot includes several images of children in school, at home and outdoors playing . Isaacs, along with her post production team at Interface Video in Washington DC, beautifully blended each image into the next using Fire/Inferno. Continuous voice over conveys the importance of guidance in a child's growth. "We wanted this spot to remind parents and care givers that setting aside time for their children makes a tremendous difference in a child's life," says Ms. Isaacs.

To compliment the tone of the video, G&E composed an emotional track led by grand piano. The music develops as strings enter slowly behind a soaring piano melody, while acoustic guitar and auxiliary percussion add to the mix. The piece comes to an end as the climactic melody gives way to a gentle piano tag. Isaacs was very pleased with G&E Music, stating, "Not only were they incredibly professional, accommodating, and efficient, but they were also extremely talented and just a pleasure to work with. They really seemed to understand my needs, and I would recommend them to anyone."
