G&E Music Deals Ace For VH-1's Top 100 One Hit Wonders.

New York (April 2002)

G&E Music composed music and sound design for VH-1's Top100 Greatest One Hit Wonders. Building on a string of successful Top 100 shows, VH-1's latest will feature classic one hit wonder songs that topped the charts at number 1.

G&E Music created the opening theme, bumps and credit bed. VH-1 Producer, Hilary Spiegelman directed G&E Music to create tracks that were energetic and fun with a bit of a techno twist. G&E creative partner Erik Blicker said, "We've worked with Hilary on several projects prior to this and this show so far has been the most fun. She gave us complete creative freedom. After G&E Music delivered 3 directions, Spiegelman and her team chose a track incorporating a gritty Wurlitzer keyboard blended with a melodic synth line reminiscent of 80's style pop.

Schloss used Reason, Korg Electribe, Roland V-Drums, live percussion and electric bass. Enhancing the One Hit Wonder vibe, G&E sound designed the show open with casino slot machine sound effects which complimented the 'Vegas' type graphics. Once the show theme had been completed, G&E then created several bumps and loops using Pro Tools 24 MixPlus. The final phase was mixed and laidback to digibeta for final delivery.

The Top 100 Greatest One Hit Wonders premieres in May on VH-1 and will air several times a week.
